Heartfelt Words
Heartfelt Words
“Our son had significant challenges regulating his emotions and responding appropriately to difficult situations. His reactions were often explosive, aggressive, and exaggerated for the situation. He also had gross and fine motor skill delays.
Almost immediately, our son had a strong connection with Ms. Lee Ann. This connection has grown tremendously, and our family appreciates her so much. Our son greatly values her opinion and looks forward to seeing her at every appointment. We can really tell that she loves what she does and is so genuine and compassionate with the children she works with. She also uses and suggests so many resources and tools to aid her therapy and improve outcomes.
We have seen amazing growth in our son’s ability to self-regulate his emotions and his confidence when approaching new activities and physical challenges, such as larger or more difficult playground equipment. It has become uncommon at this point for him to have an outburst or tantrum when he can’t have his way, or something (like a toy or device) isn’t working properly. His play with peers and family is great, and as parents, we no longer feel the need to tiptoe around difficult situations or fear the use of the word “no”.
Most significantly, our son is now able to adapt and function normally outside of home and when playing with peers. In school, his academic performance is at or above the level of his peers. One of our biggest fears was that his inability to regulate his emotions and behaviors would negatively impact his academic success. Thankfully, after being in OT this is no longer a concern for us.”

“Lee Ann has a strong understanding of the sensory system and what each child needs to be successful in their environment. Her care, passion, and experience help children find regulation strategies that help for years to come. I have seen children be able to attend to tasks and activities in my class and feel safe in their environment after Lee Ann was able to provide therapy. She provided tools to each child and support to the educational team. I recall a student Lee Ann worked with who had been “kicked out” of 3 daycares due to dysregulated behaviors. He was seeking intense sensory experiences by crashing into walls and sliding on his knees in class. Lee Ann was able to assess the situation, provide care and tools for the child, and support the staff to continue the sensory plan. He made great gains by the end of the year and the staff gained confidence and knowledge. LeeAnn taught me new strategies and problem-solved the toughest cases. She provided me with confidence and skills to help children for years to come. Her calm and friendly demeanor built trust. Anyone working with Lee Ann is very lucky to have her as their therapist. She is the most professional and knowledgeable occupational therapist I have ever worked with.”

“Lee Ann brings such a warm energy to our home and she's gone above and beyond with our daughter's care. She's educated us on our daughter's experience and has shown she's as invested in our daughter's progress as we are by proactively suggesting new practices and tools to meet her sensory needs. Our daughter loves her. I doubt an outsider would recognize their meetings as therapy sessions with the amount of play and laughter they share. We believe Lee Ann's ability to connect with children, and love for her work, fuel our daughter's progress.
When we first started therapy, our daughter rarely looked in our direction, didn't respond to sounds, had limited fine motor skills, difficulties swallowing and chewing, and intense meltdowns that would lead to self-harm.
Our daughter will now grab your face just to make eye contact. She's gone from barely being able to clap to pointing, signing, and miming the gestures to Itsy Bitsy Spider and The Wheels On The Bus. She's becoming more independent; feeding herself, putting herself to sleep, and taking her socks off. She's noticing and playing with other children. She's catching up verbally, says 20-50 words, and can tell us when she needs a diaper change. Her meltdowns look more like the average toddler now; we can't remember the last time she self-harmed. Best of all, she's learned to give hugs and kisses. We're so thankful and recommend her to any family.”
